Sandra Finch

April 6, 1953 — January 5, 2025

Sandra Gay Finch, born on April 6, 1953, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away on January 5, 2025, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was the devoted wife of Stephen Ray Finch for 53 beautiful years and the cherished mother to Stephanie (Finch) Bright and Thomas Finch. Beloved Mother-in-law of Rodney Bright and Heather Finch. Sandra was a proud "Nana" to her six grandchildren: Truston Bright, Carson Pope, Trenton Bright, Carralee Bright, Madison Finch, and Kinley Finch, who were all truly the lights of her life.

A loyal and compassionate woman, Sandra was known for her encouragement and kindness. She was a banker by profession and went from bank teller to manager in her career. Later in life she became a preschool teacher at Bright Beginnings, where she shared her love and dedication with countless children. Sandra enjoyed teaching and taught Sunday School when her children were little. She enjoyed her hobbies of ceramics and crocheting, often finding joy in the creative process.

Being a wife and mother were her greatest passions. She was a military wife which took her to places such as Alaska, California, Kentucky, Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, Paris, London, and Mexico. No matter the destination, her favorite place remained any time spent with her family, where she would brighten any room with her smile and warmth. Her marriage was a beautiful testament of love and devotion that inspired many.

Sandra was a devoted Christian who loved Jesus and enjoyed watching Ascension Life Church online. She lived by the motto "Hi Honey," which reflected her welcoming nature and ability to make everyone feel at home.

She is preceded in death by her mother Hazel Christine (Daugherty) Willis; siblings, Ronnie Willis, David Willis, and Deanna Jones. She is survived by her sister, Christine Greene. She has many nieces and nephews that she also loved dearly. Sandra's spirit will be profoundly missed by all who knew her, especially her family, who will carry forward her legacy of love, strength, and unwavering support. Sandra Gay Finch made the world a brighter place and will always be remembered with love and affection. I can just imagine the joy and smile on her face seeing her family in heaven!
