Samuel D. "Sam" Adams

Samuel D. “Sam” Adams, 67, a lifelong resident of this area passed away on Friday morning, March 31st, 2017 at his home in Benton, TN. Sam was born in Cleveland, TN on May 28th, 1949 a son of the late Max Y. Adams. He attended Smyrna Baptist Church. Sam was an avid Antique Car enthusiast.

In addition to his father, Sam is also preceded in death by his father in law Marvin West.

Sam leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of seventeen and half years Linda West Adams, his mother Polly Adams, children Angela Davis (Brent), Melissa Ellis (Brent) and Tom Sledge (Crystal), mother in law Wilma West, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one sister Martha Millsap (Tommy), three brothers David Adams (Neva), Dean Adams (Sandy) and Dennis Adams (Marsha), numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

A celebration of his life is planned for Sunday, April 2nd, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Smyrna Baptist Church located at 209 Smyrna Road in Benton, TN 37307 with the Reverend Jim Parm officiating. Interment will follow in the Lebanon Baptist Church with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Saturday night, April 1st, 2017 from 5:00 PM until the 7:00 PM in the parlor of Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland, TN. The family will also receive friends on Sunday one hour prior to the service at the church.
