Ruth Koerting

Our dear Mother passed away this morning May 12, 2025, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Ruth Luise Shrattenholzer was born in Stuttgart, Germany on August 24, 1930, to Friedrich and Hermine Schrattenholzer.

She married Kurt Ernst Koerting on October 13, 1955, in Bayreuth, Germany.

Ruth and Kurt immigrated to Hinsdale, Illinois from Germany on December 5, 1956, and lived in the Chicago area where they raised their family of 4 children in Downers Grove, Illinois. They moved briefly to Ellison Bay, Wisconsin before settling in Maitland, Florida where they attended the Markham Woods SDA church where Ruth enjoyed participating in the Quilting Ministry. Ruth was very devoted to her grandchildren.

Ruth moved to an assisted living facility in January of this year due to deteriorating health where she passed away this morning.

She is survived by her 4 children - Charles, Michael, Karen and Pamela along with 12 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren.

We will miss her!
