Obituary

Ruth Jeanette Freeman Day, 92, of Cleveland, TN passed away on July 1, 2014. She was born on May 8, 1922 to the late Andrew Clay and Margaret Mae Freeman. Jeanette lived in the Cleveland area for the past ten years. She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church and loved attending service along with singing in the choir. She was a Sunday School teacher at her church in Illinois, prior to living in Cleveland. In addition to these, she also enjoyed shopping. Above all things, however, she was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that loved being with her family.

In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, William Day; one son Dennis Day; two brothers Richard Freeman and Ernie Freeman; three sisters: Evelyn Freeman, Freeda Anderson, and Eva Schwartz.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory one daughter Janet Marcum; four grandchildren: Billy Marcum, Sondra Marcum Curry (Earl), Brenda Martin (Stan Edison), Kevin Marcum (Brandy); eight great-grandchildren: Christopher Arroyo, Maria Arroyo, Michael Rayburn, Dakota Martin, Kyra Martin, Earl Curry III, Owen Marcum, and Lincoln Marcum.

A funeral service for Jeanette will be held at 12:00pm on Monday July 7, 2014 at Companion Funeral and Cremation Service located at 2415 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311 with Pastor William Robinson officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday July 6, 2014 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Companion Funeral Home.
