Ruth C. Phillips

Ruth C. Phillips, 82, a resident of Cleveland, TN, passed away on Thursday December 21, 2017. She was previously a resident of Bradenton, Florida where she was the Chief Financial Officer for DesChamps and Gregory Inc. for 34 years, before moving to Cleveland, Tennessee in 2003. Ruth was a member at Mount Olive Church of God. She was also a dear member of the Red Hat Club and the Common Threads Quilting Club. Ruth was an extremely thoughtful and caring person who will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edna & Robert Culpepper.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 63 years, Wiley Paul “Papa” Phillips; loving daughter, Kay Prugh (Greg); granddaughters, Brianna Prugh and Nikki Prugh; siblings, Robert P. Culpepper Jr, of Rockledge, FL, Sarah Elizabeth Woodard, and Katheryn Hagan, both of Cleveland, TN; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Friday December 29, 2017 at Mount Olive Church of God, located at 3522 Harrison Pike, Cleveland, TN 37311.
A celebration of life funeral service will follow the visitation, starting at 2:00pm at the church, with Pastor Gary Sears officiating the service.
Ms. Ruth will be laid to rest after the service in the Mount Olive Church of God cemetery, with family serving as pallbearers.
