Ruby Mae Morgan

December 18, 1940 — April 6, 2022

Ruby Mae Morgan, age 81, of the Mt. Vernon Community, passed on to her Heavenly home on April 6th, 2022, where we know she is singing and giving out all the Hugs she can! Ruby was a devoted wife and mother, raising five amazing children with lots of love and Hickory Tea. And the kids are thankful for both! Ruby Morgan was one of the sweetest, toughest, and most God-Fearing women many of us have ever known. She was so thankful and appreciative of every blessing she had large and small. She never met a stranger and the smile on her face and joy in her eyes was so genuine you immediately felt showered with love just by being next to her. Many of us watched her sing and Praise the Lord out of her songbook until she could barely breathe. There isn’t a memory of this precious lady that won’t make you smile, laugh, or just plain feel good! If we all had just a small touch of what sweet Miss Ruby had, this world would be a better place. Preceded in death by Darrell Willard Morgan, husband of 55 years. Parents, Otto and Lucille Yates Cline. Brother Wayne Yates, Sisters Wanda Yates, Bernice Yates Peels, Brothers and Sisters in law RL and Betty Morgan, Wesley Morgan, Harold Wayne Morgan. Survived by Her Loving Daughter and caregiver up to the very end Angela Morgan Headrick and spouse Jerry Headrick; Loving Sons and spouses; Rick and VB Morgan, Johnny Morgan and Jessica Best; Randall and Donna Morgan; Dennis and Lori Morgan; Sister and Brother-in-law Maxine and Junior Mcnabb, Brother-in-Law and Sister in law Buddy and Linda Morgan, Sisters in law Lucy Morgan, Sharon Morgan, and Mildred Donohue. 11 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren, Many Nieces and Nephews, and Special Friend Hannah Croft. Special Thanks to Adoration Home Health and Hospice and her very special caregiver who went above and beyond Lexi McDaniel Absher. Services will be held on Sunday, April 10th at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 709 Red River Rd, Englewood, TN 37329. Receiving Friends will be from 1 pm until 2 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 2 pm with Pastor Kent Sellers officiating. You are encouraged to share a memory of Ruby and/or your personal condolences with her family by visiting her memorial webpage and guestbook at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral Home of Athens is honored to assist her family with these arrangements.
