Ruby Lee “Dot” Eslinger, 88, of Cleveland, TN passed away peacefully at home on December 25, 2020. Dot was a member of First Baptist Church Cleveland for almost 60 years. She retired from the welfare department. Dot loved camping with the Roadrunner Camping Club and she was a member of the Demonstration Club. She was a volunteer with Red Cross and Bradley Memorial Hospital/Tennova Healthcare. She was also a member of the Cleveland Emmaus Community and the Flint Springs Ruritan Club. Above all, Dot loved her family and spending time with them.
She is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Lela Humphries; stepfather Nep Howell; siblings: Glin Humphries, Warren Humphries, Minnis Humphries, Jean Burns, Rena Siber, Paul Humphries, and Floyd Humphries.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 49 years, Dennis Eslinger; daughter Deborah Burnette (Melanie Eyre); son Richard Burnette and wife Malinda; grandchildren Eric (Staci), JR (Baily), Evan, Nick, and Katharine Burnette; great grandchildren: Tucker, Wilkes, Carson, Addyson, and AnnaLee Burnette; sister in laws Pat (Ed) Turner, Mariam Starling, and Linda Humphries. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.
The family will hold a graveside service at 2:00pm on Sunday January 3, 2020 at Red Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Dot to The Red Hill Cemetery Fund, St. Jude Hospital, or Hospice of Chattanooga.
