Roy Lee Cansler

Roy Lee Cansler, 69, of McMinn County, Tennessee passed away surrounded by his family at his lifetime home on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.

Roy was born on October 4, 1953, to Imogene Cansler Scoggins of Chattanooga, Tennessee. Roy enjoyed spending time with his family, working on his farm, and being a longtime heavy equipment operator with Wright Brothers Construction.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Shannon; Daughters, Savannah (Nick) Tate, and Harley (Cody) Womack; granddaughter, Amiah “Bonehead” Womack; Sons, Michael Cansler, James Cansler, John Alexander; Daughters, Stacie Goines, Tracie Wimpee, Amanda Morrow; and several grandchildren; sisters, Sherry Scoggins, Mary “Lulu” Reynolds, Chris Smith, and Edith Jackson; along with a host of extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his uncle who raised him Lonnie Cansler, Mother and Stepfather Imogene and Paul Scoggins.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 5:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home of Athens with Reverend Robert Davis officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm prior to the service
