Roy Edward "R.E." Whitener

Mr. Roy Edward “R.E.” Whitener 80, of Ooltewah Tennessee died, Sunday February 5, 2017, at his residence. He was born November 20, 1936 in Apison Tennessee. He is preceded in death by his son, Larry Whitener, his grandson Chris Whitener, his mother Bana (Holt) Whitener, his father William Edward Whitener, nephews Jason Robert Wolfe, and Adam Whitener, his great nephew Nathan Whitener. He is survived by Marilyn Whitener, his brothers, Dan Davis, Robert L., Ralph, John A., David Lee, Lynn, Morris, and two sisters, Linda Wolfe, and Connie Kidd. His children, Jimmy D., Roy Edward Jr., Steve, Kathy Johnson, Rickey, Gary, and Morgan Whitener, and eighteen Grandchildren, and eighteen great grand children.

He was owner and operator of R.E. Whitener Paving. He loved working and took great pride in everything he did. R.E. was a big man with a personality to match. He grew up fast, leaving home at the age of fourteen. He will be deeply missed and loved by his family, and everyone that knew him.

There will be no public service at this time.
