Roswitha "Rosie" Junker

February 21, 1946 — March 10, 2025

Roswitha Rosentritt Junker, known as Rosie, passed away on March 10, 2025 with her family by her side as she went to rest in her heavenly home with Jesus. Rosie was born in Wurtzburg, Germany on Feb 21st, 1946. Rosie attended culinary school in Bad Kissinger, Germany, and later came to the United States in 1968. About four years later, she became a U.S. citizen after teaching herself how to read, write, and speak English. Rosie and her husband George Junker who married in 1977 lived in Huntersville, NC, for over 20 years helped run The Galley Fish Camp in Cornelius, NC with their extended family Harrell and Sandy Junker of Huntersville. Rosie spent much of her time at The Galley working and raising her family with George in Huntersville. Rosie loved to travel and was blessed to travel to many wonderful places in her free time. In 1998, Rosie followed her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Glenn McRee, to Green Cove Springs, Florida, and worked at the Orange Park County Club (OPGC) for about 12 years. Once Rosie retired from OPGC she followed her family to Cleveland, Tennessee, where she remained until her passing at 79. Rosie was a member of Becky Osborne's Sunday school class at First Baptist Cleveland.

Rosie is preceded in death by her parents, Anna and Richard Rosentritt; former husband, George Junker; and brothers-in-law, Harrell and Norman Junker, and Bill Irvin.

Rosie leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Robert Glenn McRee; grandchildren, James, Kailey, and Melody McRee; and Jame's wife Meredith. Her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Bonnie Walden; grandchildren and their partners, Sean and Destiny Rodriquez-Griffin, and Nicole Harper; and great grandchildren, Samuel, Madison, Allison, and Eliana. Her sister and brother-in-law,Anita and Irvin Ruess Irvin; niece and nephew, Andrea and Alexander; cousins, Martin and August Knapp; and additional extended family in Zeuzleben, Germany. Her in-laws, Sandy Junker, Carolyn Irvin, Margarita Junker, Becky Griffin, and Bill Griffin; and her nieces and nephews; Kelly Junker, Jeff Junker, Hunter Junker, Ashley Elmer, Tony Griffin, Julie Griffin, Scott Griffin, and Susan Griffin; along with a host of extended family and friends.

The family has arrangements made through Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland, TN and visitation will be held at First Baptist Cleveland on located on 1275 Stuart Road NE Cleveland, TN from 11:00-1:00 p.m. and the celebration of life service will be located in the loft at 1:00 p.m. and a fellowship meal in her honor will be held in the cafe.

In Lieu of Flowers donations to FBC missions or charity of choice is welcomed.
