Thursday night May 20th at 8 pm., The brightest and most beautiful yellow rose bloomed in Heaven…Rose Bleiler, 70 of Decatur, TN, surrounded by her family and friends. She was a devoted and loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and a very respected and cherished friend to so many. Rose served the community in Meigs County since the day she moved here from Chicago in 1987. She was the owner of R&W Grill and a member of the Ruritan Club. Rose was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary in Athens, TN and a life member for over 30 years of the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary in Decatur, TN. She served in every office within the Ladies Auxiliary and was awarded President of the Year by the Department of Tennessee Ladies Auxiliary in 2013 as well as many awards for her work with the Ladies Auxiliary in Community Service, Child Welfare, Americanism and Scholarship. She put her heart into everything she ever did. Even after becoming sick, she still helped the Ladies Auxiliary and community in any aspect that she could. Although she was weary and ready to go home, she didn’t want to leave her family and friends.
Rose is preceded by her grandparents James Edward and Rosa Mae Shelton, John and Paulina Kwak Fela, her father Joseph Alexander Fela, mother and dad Margaret Ellen and J.W. Peeler, her brother Larry Joseph Fela, her sister Susie Smith, first husband Donald Ray Willis and her bonus daughter Wendie Bleiler.
Left to cherish her memory, her loving husband, soul mate and best friend of 27 years, Bill Bleiler, daughters Donna R. Shrum (Billy) of Dayton, TN, Kelli R. Martinez (Ruben) of Decatur, TN; bonus daughter Lynn A. Camp (Allen) of Decatur, TN; her brother Jim V. Peeler (Melissa) of Maryville, TN; grandchildren Kacey Couch (Cody), Kyle Wyrick, Jessica Camp, Danielle Camp of Decatur, TN; Dakota R. Whitmire and Margaret “Maisie” R. Harris of Dayton, TN; her bonus grandson Jeff Mason of Niota, TN; Anthony Robles Martinez (Meagan) of Alhambra, CA and Chase Bleiler of Cleveland, TN; her favorite Uncle Wesley Shelton and Aunt Hope Shelton of Simms, TX; her special cousins Faith Shook (Mike) of Kaufman, TX; Sandra Davis (Jeff) and Wesley “Bubba” Shelton (Pat) of Forney, TX; her special Aunt Carol Moore and Uncle Ralph Moore of Livonia, MI; four precious little great grandchildren Skylur, Brantley, AJ and Leia; brother in law Rick Smith of Coeur d’Alene, ID; nieces Jamee Lynn Smith and Mariska Smith; special honorary family, Tracy “Bo” and Tina McDaniel; Craig and Tammy Oestreich; Rick and Susie Toops and Joe and Mary Wynn; all of her AMVETS and AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary family, and so many special friends.
At Rose’s request, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary 90 of Decatur in her honor.
