September 11, 1942 — January 30, 2024

Ronnie Dale Stanton, 81, a lifelong resident of Athens went home to be with the Lord after a long battle with cancer on Tuesday evening, January 30, 2024, at his home with his wife by his side. He was born on September 11, 1942, in Athens, TN, a son of the late Raymond & Leona Stanton. Ronnie was a member of Shepherd's Chapel in Gravette, AR. He worked at Athens Hosiery Mill and then later retired from Renfro Corporation. Ronnie was a very talented man who was meticulous in everything he endeavored. He was also a skilled marksman, enjoyed target shooting, archery practice, and playing golf. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two brothers, Bud Stanton and James Stanton.

Ronnie leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Pat of 46 wonderful years, two daughters Renee Stanton and Crystal Tatum and her husband Tyler, one son Tony Stanton and his wife Gabby Hernandez, two granddaughters Emily Jarvis (Zack) and Bella Stanton, six grandsons Travis Allen (Kimberly), Chris Fennell (Katie), Jake Stanton (Kate), Beau Stanton, Ryland Macon, Weston Lee-Tatum, one great granddaughter Layla Fennell, six great great grandsons Brandon Allen, Corbin Allen, Seth Allen, Zander Allen, Hayden Allen and Maxwell Jarvis, one sister Norma Carroll, three sisters-in-law Debbie Watkins (Danny), Linda Graves (Bill) and Joann Queen, special lifelong friend James Presswood and Tommy Macon who he loved like a son, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 8, 2024 in the Athens chapel located at 400 S White Street from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A service celebrating his life is planned to follow the visitation time at 7:00 PM with the Reverend Keith Wilcox officiating. He will be laid to rest at McMinn Memory Gardens in a private family ceremony.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the Athens team of Hospice of Chattanooga for the excellent care they provided Ronnie and his family.
