Rondell Raburn

Rondell Henry Raburn Sr., born on November 3, 1936, in Athens, Tennessee, passed away on December 22, 2024, at the age of 88. A lifelong resident of Cleveland, Tennessee.

Rondell was a dedicated heavy equipment operator with Cleveland Utilities, where he made significant contributions in the field of utility installations by his dedication and hard work throughout his career of 20 years. He was known for his unwavering commitment to his job and the strong relationships he built with his colleagues throughout his career. After his retirement, he enjoyed being outside tinkering in his garage with his tractor or out on his riding lawn mower.

Rondell cherished his family deeply, and was affectionately known to many as Grandaddy or Ronnie. He is survived by his beloved spouse of 67 years Barbara Raburn, his daughter in law Rosa Raburn, and his grandchildren, Ashley (Jennifer) Raburn and Corey (Amanda) Raburn. He also leaves behind his great-grandchildren: Ian, Ruby, and Julia Raburn. He is survived by his sister Norma Jean (Bill) Lewis, as well as many nieces and nephews: John Raburn, Joan (Todd) Thurmond, Hannah Thurmond, Taylor Thurmond, Brian (Shelia) Lewis, Nikki (Jarod) Scofield, Nickolas Lewis, Connor Lewis, Angela Lewis, Linda Beaty, Larry Goins, Tim Goins, Missy Collins, Leann Hayes, Eddie Hayes, Rodney Hayes, Ricky Hayes, Donny Hayes, and Gary Hayes. His love and kindness will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Rondell's family will welcome friends and family in honor of his memory, Saturday, December 28 from 4-6 pm followed by a memorial service, which will take place in the Shelton Parlor at Companion Funeral Home Ridge Chapel; 2412 Georgetown RD NW; Cleveland, TN 37311. His legacy of love, dedication, and hard work will remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

Rondell was preceded in death by: Henry Raburn (father), Bonnie Raburn (mother), Joe Raburn (brother), Rondell Raburn, Jr. (son).
