Ronald Ray "Ronnie" Taylor, age 73 of Harriman died on Thursday, April 4,2023 after a brief sickness with cancer. He was a humble, Christ centered man that loved his family. Ronnie was born on April 22, 1950, to Virgil Ray and Lillian Jean McCoy Taylor. He grew up in Harriman and married his high-school sweetheart, Katherine Lantz Taylor. He was a devoted caregiver to Kathy during their 53 years of marriage. Ronnie retired from Y-12 as a machinist after 37 years of service. He was a member of Emory Heights Missionary Baptist Church where he enjoyed teaching Sunday School. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spoiling his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Gary Taylor.

Ronnie is survived by his wife, Katherine "Kathy" Lantz Taylor, his children, Amanda (Nickey) Phillips, Ronnie (Polly) Taylor, and Bridgett Love. Grandchildren, Colby and Colin Nelson, Zadie Love, Lily, Luke, and Lane Taylor. He is also survived by sisters Pam (Danny) Simmons and Carol (Teddy) Raby, his uncle Terry McCoy, and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Emory Heights Missionary Baptist Church in Harriman on Thursday, April 11. The family will greet friends from 5:00 to 6:00 pm, with the service to begin at 6:00 pm.

Ronnie's family would like to give special thanks to Nurse Ramona, Nurse Rena, and Nurse Cody. Your kindness and compassion were truly appreciated. In lieu of flowers the family asks you to buy a fishing license or take someone hunting.
