Ronald Edward “Smokey” Davis, 71, of Cleveland, TN passed away on March 23, 2022 surrounded by his family. He was born on April 18, 1950. Smokey was a graduate of Bradley Central High School and served as a firefighter for the City of Cleveland for 30 years. On his days off, he worked for Snakeman Auto Parts. He was an avid sports fan who loved NASCAR and all things Tennessee Vols. He also enjoyed gospel music. Smokey was of the Christian Faith, of the Baptist tradition. Above all, Smokey was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family more than anything. Some of the highlights of his life were coaching his kids in little league, supporting his granddaughter, Brylie, in softball, and he adored all animals, especially his dogs, Nala and Peyton.
He is preceded in death by his father Ed Davis; grandparents: Emily and Hugh Davis, Cora Rue, Ernest (Ernie) Davis; and aunt Joyce Price.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 13 years, Kathy Davis; children: Misty Crowder (Brian), Amanda Davis, and Dusty Davis (Holley); grandchildren: Jackson Crowder, Noah Curtis, and Brylie Davis.
A celebration of Smokey’s life will be held at 7pm on Monday March 28th at Mt. Olive Church of God. His family will receive friends prior to the service from 4pm until 7pm. You are invited to share a personal memory of Smokey or your condolences with his family at his online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. If desired, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
