Robert Raymond Sherlin, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 8th, 2024 after bravely facing an 11-year battle with cancer. He was 57 years old. Rob was Born in Fort Oglethorpe, GA but made his home in Cleveland, TN.
Rob is survived by his loving wife, Tammy Sherlin, his cherished daughters, Tiffani Sherlin (Fiancé Nolan Pelfrey) and Courtney (Sean) Conway, his step-son Trently Letner, his grandchildren, Sarah-Grace Letner and Trenton Jake Letner. He is also survived by his caring sister Judi (Denny) Williams, and his supportive brothers David (Marilyn) and Donnie (Toika) Sherlin and several loved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Rob is preceded in death by his parents Roy Raymond Sherlin and Thelma Jean Sherlin (Ross), and his grandparents Robert and Maude Sherlin and Aubie and Mary Ross. And many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, humor, and unwavering love. Rob was a dedicated member of Mt. Olive Ministries and was active in the Cleveland Emmaus Community. Rob was passionate about ministry and happiest when sharing his faith with others. Rob's men's class at Mt. Olive Ministries was an important part of his life. Rob was also a devoted fan of the Tennessee Vols, his passion for the team reflecting his unwavering loyalty and dedication. Beyond his love for sports, he was a pillar of strength and love for his family. His resilience and courage throughout his illness inspired all who knew him.
A celebration of Rob's life will be held at Mt. Olive Ministries on Friday, April 12th. Visitation will be held 4:00-6:00 pm and a memorial service will begin at 6:00 pm with the Reverend Gary Sears and the Reverend James Sears officiating. Friends and family are invited to join in honoring his memory and sharing stories of his remarkable life.
