On Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at 7:38 p.m., Robert "Bobby" Corey passed from this life into the arms of Jesus at the age of 70.
Bobby is preceded in death by his mother Ilse Corey, his brother Samu- el Corey and niece Mira Cummings. He is survived by his wife Jo'an Corey, his sons Christian L. Corey, Steffan M. Corey, his daughter Tia A. Corey (Mathew), 2 granddaughters Sapphire L. Corey and Shylnn I. Smart, his brother Richard (Terri), his sisters Cindy, Carolyn (Lonnie), and Cathy (Larry). Along with several nieces and nephews.
Bobby was born on May 13, 1953, in Ludwigshafen, Germany to Samuel T. Corey and Ilse Routz Corey. Being born into a military family, Bobby carried a dual citizenship; which, come to find out, placed him on a "watch list" at the airport and a surprise poking from his mother-in-law (funny story).
Bobby had a love for animals (Luna and Sigi), history, spirituality and nature that he carried into his career as a Park Ranger.
While living in Florida, he gained the nick-name "Bobby Ballfield", from the Pasco Co. little leaguers because he would stripe their fields like the Big Leagues. After moving to Chattanooga, TN, he went to work for the City of Chattanooga Public Works --Emergency Dept. and later into Parks & Recreation-Park Ranger; where he retired.
Family and friends who are left behind, will never forget his love for our Lord and Savior, Jesus. His smile, laughter, goofiness, humor and loving ways will be deeply missed.
Rest in peace, one found at the close of the day, for now you are free. Your parting void will be remembered with friendships shared, love, laughs, kisses and loved one's touches.
A message to family and friends... Be not burdened with times of
sorrow. I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much. I love you all very much. ❤ Bobby,
