Robert "Bob" Reece, Sr.

Robert “Bob” D. Reece, Sr., of Cleveland, TN, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021. He was the son of the late J Ralph Reece and Catherine Wellborn Reece.
Bob was born in Statesville, North Carolina on March21,1939 and he grew up in Greer, South Carolina after graduating from Greer High School he attended and graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in Ceramic Engineering. Immediately after graduation, Bob went to work for 3 M Company in Chattanooga where he spent the next 20 years. He then worked for Cleveland Tennessee Enamel eventually retiring from Frigidaire Corp.
Bob was a well-known sailor at Privateer Yacht Club for many years. His first love was sailing but he was also an avid woodturner, football and Nascar fan.

Preceded in death by his parents; stepdaughter, Susan Tinsley Richmond.

Survived by his wife of 39 years Phyllis D. Climer Reece; sons Robert (Sharon) Reece, Jr., of St. Simon Island, GA, Jeff (Marianne) Reece, of Athens, GA, and stepson Randy Tinsley, of Cleveland, TN; siblings, Charles W. Reece, of Owensboro, KY; grandchildren, Caroline Reece, Cory Trent(Ashley),Catie Reece, James Reece, Lauren (Jon) Clayton, Chase (Patti) Richmond, Heath (Carrie) Tinsley, DeRee (Dustin)Catlett, and Jessi Tinsley; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Bella, Gunner Clayton, Bradley and James Trent, Avery Tinsley, and Raleigh Hitchcock.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 5,2021, from 10:00 AM-11:00 AM at Anglican Church of the Redeemer followed by the service at 11:00 AM. Rev. Phillip Hanner officiating, interment will follow at Chattanooga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Anglican Church of the Redeemer building fund.
