Robbynell Johnston

Robbynell Lauderback Johnston, 94, died peacefully at her home on December 27, 2024. She was born on February 9,1930 to Charley and Ruby Beene Lauderback. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Cline Johnston, daughter, Connie Woods and her husband Bobby Woods, brothers Reynolds (Taterbug) Lauderback (Nada Lee) and Kenneth Lauderback (Edna), and sisters Dorothy Lauderback, Betty Garner, and Clara Ayers (James L.).

Mrs. Johnston had lived in the Black Fox and McDonald communities for most of her life. She had attended Bethel Baptist in Black Fox and Corinth Baptist in McDonald. Later she joined Macedonia Baptist near her home when she moved to Cleveland to be nearby neighbors with her three daughters and their husbands. She was faithful in all three churches and taught her children to love the Lord, too.

She did farming starting at a very young age and continued to make a garden until two years ago. She also loved to ride her mower and keep her yard mowed and tidy. For years she raised a garden and canned much of the family's food as well as making dresses for her girls from infancy to prom and wedding. She had worked at Kay's Kastle, Accent Mark, and Patrick's. She began working outside the home at age 55

She is survived by daughters Patricia Thomason (John) and Wilma Ownby (Dean), granddaughter Sarah Horner, great granddaughters Audrey Creal and Victoria Creal. She is also survived by her niece Angel Blair and nephew Ray Lauderback

The visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 on Dec. 31 with the service to be held at 11:00 at Companion Funeral Home at the Ridge Chapel. Burial will be at Fort Hill Cemetery.
