Ricky Lee Sims

Ricky Lee Sims, 62 of Georgetown, departed this life on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at CHI Memorial Hospital. Born on April 20, 1959 to the late J.C. and Willie Dean Hixson Sims, he was a native and lifelong resident of Hamilton County and previously employed at Jackson Chair. He loved fishing, fixing cars, and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Sims; and sister, Susie Sims.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 39 years, Ann Tatum Sims; children, Jason Kelly, Jeremy Kelly(Brooke) Ricky Sims, Jr. (Ashton), and Elizabeth Moats; grandchildren, Justin, Corbin, Cameron, and Grayson Kelly, Kadon and Bree Moats; great-grandchildren, Dawson and Korigan Kelly; sisters, Barbara Keltch(Tim), Stephanie Bates and Charity; special aunt, Donna Hilton; as well as several extended family members and a host of friends.
A Celebration of Life and Home going for Ricky Lee Sims will be held at 3p.m. Monday, September 20, 2021 at New Union Baptist Church with Pastor Guinn Green officiating. Interment will follow in the New McDonald Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 1p.m. until the funeral hour at the church on Monday.
