Richard Spurlock

Richard T. Spurlock, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Tuesday, July 16th after a battle with liver cancer at the age of 69.

Richard was passionate about sharing the love of Christ with others and made a difference everywhere he went. He studied the Bible at Christ for the Nations in Dallas, TX, as well as at New Life Bible College in Cleveland, TN. He played the organ gracefully most of his life and played the organ with his loving wife Nataliya at Metro Tab Church in Chattanooga.

He drove a truck for a living and loved his family and friends well. He enjoyed life, the outdoors, music, church and telling others about Christ. He was a mentor, friend and father to many.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Preston Spurlock, and his parents, Richard Oxley and Patricia Ann Marston Spurlock.

Richard is survived by his wife, Nataliya; his children Samuel Spurlock, Sarah Townsend, Ola Shevchuk, and Jimi Spurlock; his grandchildren Amelia Shevchuk, Acacia Rose, Jonathan Patrick and Jordan Townsend; his sister Mary Katherine Casto; his half-sister DeWilda Spurlock; nephew Richard See and niece Patena See.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20th at Metro Tab Church in Chattanooga, TN. Family will meet with friends at the church from 10-11 am; funeral service will be held at 11 am. Burial will follow at 1:45 at Lee Cemetery, McDonald, TN.
