Richard Lamar Goins

Richard Lamar Goins, 58, passed away Saturday, July 20th 2019. He was born November 17, 1960 in Cleveland, TN. Where he was also raised. He attended Bradley Central High School and he was a self-employed painter for 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his baby brother Raymond Keith Goins, grandparents: James C.L. Goins, Bertie Goins Bennett, Sam and Katie Shelton, aunt, Evelyn Mooney, uncle, James C.L. Goins, Junior and Richard’s lifelong companion’s daughter, Ericka Hullender.

Survivors include his parents Raymond and Sammie Shelton Goins, his lifelong companion of 33 years Mildred “Cookie” Hullender and her son Nathan Hullender, brother and sister-in-law Mitchell and Ramona Goins, sister and brother-in-law Angie and Robbie DeFriece, step grandmother, Katherine Roark as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

The Celebration of Richard’s life is planned for 2:00 on Thursday, July 25, 2019 in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 2415 Georgetown Rd. NW, Cleveland, TN 37311 with the Reverend Guinn Green officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the visitation from 1:00-2:00.
