Richard Jones

Richard Harry Jones, 73, of Cleveland passed away on Sunday, January 7,2024. Richard was born on June 13, 1950, in Salisbury, Maryland to the late Richard Alda Jones and Mary Elizabeth Cash Jones. He was a member of Valley View Baptist Church for over 29 years. And was a 1977 graduate of Carson Newman University. Richard was also a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ronald Jones, Beverley Jones, and Charles Jones.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Vesta Guthrie Jones; brothers in law, George Guthrie, and Claude Guthrie; and his sister in law, Nina Ray Jones; along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, January 15, 2024, at 1:00 pm at Valley View Baptist Church with Pastor Judson Kirkpatrick officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm prior the service. A graveside service is to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial donations be made to Valley View Baptist Store House Ministry.
