Richard Elmer Ammons

Richard Elmer Ammons, 79, a lifelong resident of Englewood, TN passed away on Sunday evening, January 19, 2020 in a Chattanooga hospital. He was born in Englewood, TN on August 6, 1940 a son of the late John L. & Nellie Ammons. Richard was an honorable discharged veteran of the United States Air Force after faithfully serving his country. He was retired from the Oak Ridge National Security Complex. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family in his spare time.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers James R. Ammons and David Ammons.
Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 56 years Carolyn Smith Ammons, two son Stacy Ammons his wife Vondaleigh and John E. Ammons, one sister Judy Stiles, three grandchildren, Jessica Millard (Taylor), Jonathan Ammons and Nickolas Ammons, one great grandson Branson Millard, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
