Obituary
Richard “Dickie” Allen Houston, 67, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday night, November 18, 2012 at his home surround by his loving family. Dickie was born in Charleston, TN on September 24, 1945 a son of the late Curtis and Lottie Houston. Dickie a lifelong resident of this area was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Clingan Ridge Baptist Church. Dickie enjoyed anything associated with the great outdoors such as motorcycling, travel and fishing to name just a few. But above all, he was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather who cherished spending time with his family.
Dickie leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 41 years Joyce Scoggins Houston two daughters Melissa Houston Diamond and husband Chip and Paige Houston Leseman and husband Kirk, two brothers Gary Houston and wife Juanita and Randy Houston, granddaughters Hannah Diamond and Adley Leseman who Dickie was anxiously awaiting her birth next month. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members, church family and friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Clingan Ridge Baptist Church located at 2412 Georgetown Road NW, Cleveland, TN with the Dr. Sammy Hooker and Reverend James Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery with Scott Houston, Todd Houston, Adam Houston, Daniel Haire, Bruce Rominger, and Jason Lunsford serving and pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday night, November 20, 2012 at Clingan Ridge Baptist Church from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and also one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
