Richard "Murdock" Allen Collins, age 65 of Sweetwater, TN took his last breath on this side of eternity at 8:47am on February 13, 2025 with his family by his side.
To know him was to love him. He was a on-of-a kind caring soul, who had a contagious smile and never met a stranger. Murdock loved his family, the UT Vols, watching Sanford & Sons, blaring his radio to "Play That Funky Music White Boy", and anything outdoors.
He attended Cleveland State Community College where he obtained his HVAC & Refrigeration Technician Certificate and opened his own business, "Rick's Heat & Air" for a period of time. He later worked as a machinist and took night classes to obtain several advanced certifications in this field.
Survivors include his daughters and their husbands, Dawn and Todd Torbett of Madisonville and Renee and Pastor Isaac Wood of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Hunter (Chloe), Chandler, Katie, Angela, Blake (Oni), Lexi, Emily and Kaden; great grandchildren, Levi, Braxton and Jackson.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 15, 2025 at 4:00pm at Crossroads Baptist Church located at 110 Veterans Road, Sweetwater, TN 37874. (Wear UT Vols attire if available!)
In lieu of flowers, his daughters request a memorial donation be made to Notchey Creek Volunteer Fire Dept, as they always treated him like family.
You are encouraged to share a memory of Murdock and/or your personal condolences with his family by visiting his memorial webpage and guestbook at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral Home and the Cody family are honored to assist his family with these arrangements.
