Rhonda Jean Donald passed away on February 28, 2024. She was born in Sewickley, PA on June 20, 1951 and lived for the past 55 years in Chattanooga.
Rhonda spent 47 years as a caring and devoted nurse at several facilities in Chattanooga, including 19 years as the plant nurse for Dixie Yarns. Most recently she worked at Dominion Senior Living of Hixson where she was deeply loved and respected by both the patients and staff. Rhonda's passion was caring for the elderly. She loved her patients and was a true advocate for them. She also loved her 'work family', often cooking large meals to bring into work for them. She had a big personality, spoke her mind and was fun! Rhonda was one of a kind!
Rhonda loved all animals, especially cats and was known to care for rescues. She enjoyed the water - the ocean, rivers and lakes, and lived the last 20 years overlooking Chickamauga Lake. Rhonda loved her family deeply - especially her son, Jamie, who was her pride and joy.
During Rhonda's brief but fierce battle with cancer, Jamie and daughter-in-law, Maryann were by her side providing nonstop care and comfort. She, no doubt, was strong and was a fighter - right up to the very end. She will be truly missed by her friends and family.
Rhonda is survived by her son, Jamie Donald and daughter-in-law, Maryann Donald; sisters, Aimee Randolph (James), Christine Pritchard (Scott) and Heather Park; nephews J.W. & Drew Randolph; nieces Taylor Donald, Madison, Emily & McKenzie Pritchard, Katie, Abby and Lily Park. Great nieces and nephews Emma & Isla Randolph, Margaret & Hank Randolph and Brody Solomon. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Robert Donald and Lora Peters Donald and her brothers Robbie Donald and Scott Donald.
A celebration of Rhonda's life will be held in June at her request.
