Reverend William R. “Bill” Stamper, 88, a resident of Old Fort, TN went to be with The Lord on Tuesday December 1st, 2015. Bill was born on November 15, 1927 to the late Ethel Grace Owens and Thurston Stamper in Vanceburg, Kentucky. He was a Baptist pastor for 54 years, he loved The Lord and his fellow man. Bill was an honorably discharged veteran of the United States Army and was always known for telling his many stories. He was loved and respected by many and will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his 3 brothers, Paul, Don, and Stanley Stamper.
Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 14 years, Patricia; children, Tony (Judy) Stamper, Mark Stamper, Kris (Angie) Stamper, Vickie Stamper, Tonya (Tom) Browning; stepchildren, Louie Freeman, Patrick (Donna) Freeman, Jeff (Beth) Freeman, Tim (Robin) Freeman, and Scot Adkins; sister, Ann Smally along with many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life funeral service is planned for Saturday December 5, 2015 at 1:00pm at the New Beginnings Fellowship Church located at 5653 Waterlevel Hwy, Cleveland TN 37311, with Brother Josh Taylor officiating the service.
A visitation period will be held two hours prior from 11:00AM until the 1:00PM service time.
