Reverend Junior "J. R." Taft Stanley

Reverend Junior “J.R.” Taft Stanley, 80 a resident of Sweetwater, TN went to his Heavenly home on Friday, September 17, 2021 in a Sweetwater hospital. He was born in Hot Springs, NC on August 1, 1941 a son of the late Taft & Cordelia Stanley. J.R. had a loved for his Lord and sharing the gospel with others he came in contact with.
In additional to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son-in-law James Bledsoe.
J. R. leaves behind to cherish his memory five children Tony Stanley, Terry Stanley, Michael Stanley, Samuel Stanley (Samantha) and Christina Bledsoe, twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two sisters Marie Hasty and Lillie Robinson, one brother Roy Stanley, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A service celebrating his life is planned for Friday September 14, 2021 at 2:00 PM in the Athens chapel of Companion Funeral Home located at 400 S White Street. The family will receive friends on Friday from 12:00 noon until the 2:00 PM service time at the funeral home.
The interment and committal service will follow in the Hammonds Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
