Obituary
Reverend Ralph Robert Rominger, age 87, a resident of Cleveland, went to his Heavenly home on September 8, 2014 in a local hospital surrounded by his family. He no longer needs a wheelchair and is able to walk without pain in his eternal home.
He was born on February 6, 1927 to the late Emmanuel and Lula Miller Rominger. He came to know the Lord as his Savior in his early years and accepted the call to preach in the 1960’s. He attended Red Hill Methodist church as a child then later pastored many churches in the surrounding area including Reliance Baptist, Liberty Baptist, Conasauga Baptist, Stanfield Baptist and White Oak Baptist Church. His home church was Clingan Ridge Baptist where he was a long standing member, deacon and loved being on the visitation team.
Ralph faithfully served his country in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946 in Austria and Germany. He often said that God protected him and brought him home uninjured because he had a mother who stayed on her knees praying for his safe return. Ralph was employed at Magic Chef for many years and retired from Eaton Corporation in 1973.
His heart was for people and often said “If it wasn’t about Jesus, it wasn’t about anything at all”. His smile was contagious and he never met a stranger. He had a passion for evangelism and was quick to tell everyone he met about his Jesus.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing Rook and planting a garden so he could share the vegetables with all the friends and neighbors. He loved people and enjoyed showering them with gifts especially his time.
In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by one sister Nina Conner, brothers Charles, Eugene, Louis.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory and carry on his legacy his bride of 67 years, Icye Bunch Rominger, one son and daughter-in-love, Robert and Bennie Sue Rominger, and one daughter, Charlotte Rominger Walker Smith. Also, grandson Bruce (Joy) Rominger, granddaughters Judy (Paul) Pruett and Keisha Walker Graham. His pride and joy were his great grandchildren, Taylor and Madison Pruett and Colby and Adasyn Graham. Also, two brothers, Clyde Rominger and Calvin Rominger, a special nephew who he thought of as a son, Billy Rominger along with several other nephews and nieces.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 10 from 3 to 7 PM @ Clingan Ridge Baptist Church located at 2412 Georgetown Road NW in Cleveland.
A celebration of Ralph’s homecoming will be conducted on September 10 @ 7 PM officiated by Reverend Steve Morgan, Pastor Gary Moats and Billy Rominger. Special music will be The Neeley family, Patti Terry, Wanda Price and Tye Crumley.

Interment will held on Thursday @ 11 AM at Sunset Memorial Gardens and will conclude with full military honors.
