Reble Evlee Green

On December 11, 2017 Robert (Papaw) Green joined many loved ones in Heaven. Today, his beloved wife is celebrating with them. Reble (pronounced “Ree-bul”) Evlee Merrell Green, born Sept. 29, 1934, passed from this life December 21, 2019. She was preceded in death by parents Hoyt Merrell and Mary Rymer Merrell; husband of 67 years, Robert H. Green; infant son Robert Jeffrey Green; infant great great grandson, Ethan Scoggins (12/21/18); brothers Hubert Merrell and Homer Merrell.
She loved working in her yard and trout fishing with “Rob” at Green Cove Pond. Her magic touch baiting the hooks taught many grandchildren how to fish. In the 1960s and early 70s, her voice blessed many souls singing Southern Gospel Music with her three daughters, aka, The Green Family.
Left waiting to see her again are three daughters and their spouses: Wanda and Jim Mayfield, Kathy and Robbie Hicks, Sue and Bill Wheeler; six grandchildren: Jeff Scoggins, Kip Hogan, Heather Wheeler, Julie Quinn, Heath Wheeler, and Matthew Hicks; ten great grandchildren: Skylar Scoggins, Brandon Scoggins, Mackenzie Hogan, Kellen Hogan, Devin Howard, Reagan Wheeler, Morgan Howard, Emily Quinn, Ross Wheeler, and Charlotte Hogan; sister Maudie Merrell Martin; brothers: Johnny Merrell (Mollie) and David Merrell (Loretta). In addition to these she leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and special friends Alvin and Carolyn Howard.
We honor her request with Graveside Services at 2:00pm on Monday December 23, 2019 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. The family will meet for one hour prior at Companion Funeral Home.
