Raymond Chamberlin

Raymond Earl Chamberlin, lovingly known as Ray, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2023, at the age of 92. Born on April 6, 1931, in Newark Valley, NY, Ray was a proud and hardworking man who dedicated his life to farming.

Ray was a true outdoorsman who found joy in working with horses, exploring the woods, and discovering treasures at auctions and flea markets. He had a unique talent for building crosses, which he lovingly gave away to others. With his dry sense of humor, Ray was known for giving people a hard time, always keeping them on their toes.

He is preceded in death by his father, Elwyn Chamberlin; mother, Dorothy Wolanski; son, Donald Chamberlin; and sister, Arlene Perry.

He is survived by his beloved spouse of many years, Janet Louise Chamberlin, children: Brian Chamberlin (Mary), Ramona Howe, Colleen Freese (Charlie), Jeff Chamberlin (Paulette), and stepsons, Kenneth (Leslie) and Michael Dodge. He also leaves behind a daughter-in-law, Elaine Chamberlin.

Ray will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren: Chris Howe, Wendy Howe, Heather Howe, Jennifer Howe, Gene Freese, Nichole Freese, Jessica Stamper, Kara Matthew, Joshua Chamberlin, Brent Chamberlin, Cory Chamberlin, Lora Aguila, Hannah Chamberlin, Cala Bullington, Jeff Chamberlin, Seth Chamberlin, Destiny Chamberlin, and Cody Dodge, Jadyn Dodge, Scott Dodge, and Connor Dodge. Additionally he will be missed by his 29 great-grandchildren as well as his four great-great-grandchildren. Ray is also survived by his siblings, Joyce Woods and Yvonne Doucett.

A celebration of Ray's life will take place on Friday, January 5th, at 6 pm at the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation period from 4 pm to 6 pm, where friends and family can gather to pay their respects.
