Ray "Harold" Blankenship

Obituary

Ray “Harold” Blankenship, 66 a resident of Old Fort, TN passed into the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 with a smile of radiance on his face. Harold had suffered for the last several years from complication from a stroke.
Harold was born on November 18, 1945 in Ducktown, TN a son of the late Ray Dillon Blankenship. Harold served his country in the United States Navy for seven years and received the National Defense Service Medal and also the Vietnam Defense Service Medal. Harold was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his father Harold is preceded in death by one brother Gerold Blankenship.
Harold leaves behind to cherish his memory, his mother Odessa Blankenship of Old Fort, three sisters Joann Kaylor of Cleveland, TN, Patsy Blankenship and Carolyn Coalson both of Old Fort, two brothers Bruce Blankenship and Larry Blankenship both of Old Fort, four nephews, four nieces, five great nephews, four great nieces, and a host of other extended family and friends.
A funeral service is planned for Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 3:00 PM at the Blue Ridge Temple Baptist Church located at 1057 Swan Road, Old Fort, TN 37362 with Mr. Johnny Sosebee officiating. A private interment will follow in the Dill Cemetery with Dillon Kaylor, Jeremy Jordan, Heath Jordan, Jeff Shoemaker, Scott Powell, Eddie Blankenship and Marty Blankenship serving as pallbearers. Colton Ray Kaylor will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 12:00 PM until the 3:00 PM service time.
