Randall "Mr. Awesome" Fowler, 61, of Cleveland passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2024. Randall was born on July 7, 1962 in Cleveland to Quinton Fowler and Reba Guthrie.
He was preceded in death by his father, Quinton Fowler; and his bonus dad, James Guthrie.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his mother, Reba Guthrie; brothers, Rick (Susan) Fowler, and Chester Guthrie; sisters, April (John) Sullivan, and Martha (Jamey) Green; nieces and nephews, William, Jonathan, Olivia, and Emma; special granddaughter, Charity; and his hunting buddies, Hunter, Walker, and, Bryson; along with a host of extended family, and friends.
Randall was a graduate of Bradley Central High School. He began his career in metal fabrication, working for several local construction companies where he also worked as a gasoline and diesel engine mechanic. He became an ASE certified master mechanic working with several local garages.
Randall eventually moved back to his passion for fabrication and construction, joining the 704 Ironworkers Local Union. He began with King Industries in 2016 as an Ironworking Journeyman. Randall excelled in this world and quickly rose to Foreman. During this time, he gained the nickname: "Mr. Awesome." Eventually, Randall was named General Foreman and led several multi-million-dollar projects for a key customer.
Randall was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to hunt deer and turkeys and was accomplished at both. He was a similarly able fisherman. Over the last few years, his focus shifted from his success to the success of his grandchildren in the field. He had the great joy of seeing them learn and develop into accomplished outdoorsman in their own right.
Randall was also trained in multiple disciplines of martial arts and worked as an Executive Bodyguard with the International Protection Group of New York. He provided protection services for Viacom Entertainment, Lifetime Television, MTV, and others.
Randall's list of accomplishments cannot be contained on a single page, and they do not capture the most important.
He was always kind with a sly smile. Always thinking of others, while looking for ways to make others smile. He was fearless (sometimes to a fault) in his career and relationships. A great friend, brother, and son.
Most importantly, Randall was a believer in Christ, and we know he will be looking for us with bright eyes and that smile when we join him.
A celebration of life service will be held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Shenandoah Baptist Church at 2:00 pm with Pastor David Gamble officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm prior to service. A graveside service is to follow.
