Obituary

Ralph C. Shipley, 81, of Cleveland, TN passed away on May 23, 2015 at his home. He was born on October 30, 1933 to the late Samuel and Nancy Shipley. He was a lifelong resident of this area who loved gardening, tractors, and selling fruits and vegetables that he grew. He worked at a Laboring Union, retiring after 40 years. He also loved his dogs Spot and Scrappy. Above all things, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

In addition to his mother and father, he is preceded in death by sisters: Beatrice Shipley, Frances Casteel, and Paralee Haney; brothers: Clifford Shipley and Howard Shipley.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory wife of 55 years, Alice Shipley; two sons: Terry Shipley and Gary Shipley; grandchildren: Jennifer Shipley Morrow, Chad Shipley, Ryan Shipley, and Colby Shipley; one sister Shirley Evans of Athens, TN; great-grandchildren: Austin Shipley, Lilly Shipley, Kaygen Shipley, Kylie Shipley, Caleb Strickland, and Joceyln Shipley.

A funeral service will be held on at 7:00pm on Tuesday May 26th, 2015 at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311 with Pastor Gary King officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00pm-7:00pm prior to the service. Interment will be at 12:00pm on Wednesday May 27, 2015 at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Cleveland, TN with Gary Shipley, Terry Shipley, Chad Shipley, Ryan Shipley, Colby Shipley, and Austin Shipley serving as pallbearers.
