Obituary for Rachel Rowbeta Ledford

Rachel Rowbeta Ledford, aged 74, of Maryville, Tennessee, departed from this world on June 30, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones at her residence in Maryville. She was born on February 25, 1949, in Farner, Tennessee, to the late Clyde and Mae (Taylor) Duggan.

Rachel was a remarkable woman who spent the last eight years of her life in Maryville, where she touched the lives of many. She possessed an unwavering faith in God and lived her life as a devoted follower of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her strong Christian values were the foundation upon which she built her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her.

Rachel was known for her remarkable spirit and her gentle yet resilient nature. She was an independent and strong-willed woman, yet her heart overflowed with love and compassion for others. Rachel found solace in the simple joys of life, spending countless hours immersed in crafts, particularly working with beads. She found immense pleasure in creating beautiful pieces of art and sharing them with her loved ones.

Among her favorite pastimes were playing games with her grandchildren, watching her treasured TV shows, and creating cherished memories with her family. Rachel's presence lit up the room, and her love and warmth enveloped all those fortunate enough to be in her company.

Rachel leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in the hearts of her surviving family members. Her beloved husband, William Ledford, stood by her side throughout their journey together. Rachel's son, Scott Ledford and his wife Tina, shared a special bond with her that transcended words, a bond built on the deep love and understanding they had for one another.

She is also survived by her loving siblings, Juanita Brown and Joyce Vest, who were not only her family but also her closest confidants and pillars of support. Rachel took great delight in the presence of her cherished grandchildren: Monique (Michael) Schneider, Brianna (Doug) Akins, Kevin (Madison) Ledford, Ashley Ledford, Makayla Ledford, and Trent (Macayla) Ledford. She rejoiced in their accomplishments and reveled in the joy they brought to her life.

Rachel's great-grandchildren, Rhodes Pittman, Magnolia Schneider, Lucas Akins, Jacob Akins, Aurora Ledford, Atlas Ledford, and Hazel Ledford, were the light of her life. She treasured each and every moment spent with them, cherishing the laughter, the love, and the endless smiles they shared.

Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, son Kevin Ledford, and siblings Gary Duggan, Jimmy Duggan, Betty Culler, and Anita Raper. Though they are no longer with us, their memory lives on in Rachel's heart and the hearts of all those who loved her.

The family will come together to celebrate Rachel's life in a private ceremony at a later date. The support and love of family and friends during this difficult time are deeply appreciated.

In this time of profound loss, we find solace in the memories we shared with Rachel. She taught us the power of faith, resilience, and unwavering love. Her absence leaves an indescribable void, but her spirit will forever shine brightly in our hearts. As we mourn the loss of a remarkable woman, may we also celebrate the gift of her life and the profound impact she had on us all.

Rachel Rowbeta Ledford, a beacon of love and inspiration, has left an enduring legacy. May she find eternal peace in the embrace of her heavenly Father, and may her soul rest in everlasting tranquility.
