Rabin Elliott Tilson

Rabin Elliott Tilson, 83, of Cleveland, TN departed this life on November 15, 2021 surrounded by his family. He is now in the prescence of Jesus “touring that city” that he always sung about. He was born on December 5, 1937 to the late Jesse Clifford and Beulah Mae Tilson. Rabin was an avid Tennessee Vols and Atlanta Braves fan. He was thrilled to cheer on his Braves as they won the World Series this year. Rabin was a Veteran of the United States Army and he was also a longtime member of Ridgeview Baptist Church. He was a tremendous man of God who loved his family and lived a life of generosity and care for his family. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his mother and father he is preceded in death by his son Austin Johnson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce Tilson; daughters Cyndi Meeks and Margie Cotton (Lawrence); brother Sonny Tilson; grandchildren: Jace Meeks, Kalyn Meeks, Lauren Melton, and Lawrence Cotton II; great grandchildren: Ryleigh Meeks and Reed Melton. In addition to these, hhe leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Rabin’s life will be held at 8pm on Friday November 19, 2021 in the Cleveland Chapel of Companion Funeral Home. His family will receive friends from 5pm until the 8pm service. He will be laid to rest in the Shed Cemetery in Polk County on Saturday November 20th at 12pm. A funeral procession will leave the parking lot across from Companion Funeral Home on Saturday at 11:15am.
