R. Larry Hockman

R. Larry Hockman, 85 years old, of Athens Tennessee went to be with the Lord on December 21, 2017. Larry was born on October 21, 1932 in Bedminster Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania to Ralph and Kathryn Hockman.

Larry was drafted in 1953 and served as a Corporal in the Medical Battalion during the Korean War. Together with his wife Alice, they owned and operated Hockman Pool Co. (est.1967) and Hockman Spa & Pool Supply in downtown Athens. As the only local full-service pool construction and supply business at that time, they built pools and supplied chemicals for 55 years.

Larry had 5 children: Brent, Bonnie, Blake, Jane & Jill and 21 grandchildren.

A celebration of Larry & Alice's lives together will be held outdoors at their annual hayride on their farm at 118 County Road 654, Athens, Tennessee 37303 on October 29th at 5pm.The family asks that anyone wishing to attend would bring their own chair.
