Pless Clifford Plemons Jr., 86, of Cleveland, TN passed away on February 21, 2024 in the comfort of his home surrounded by family. He was born on September 20, 1937 to the late Pless Clifford Plemons Sr. and Amy Moore Plemons.
Clifford was a lifelong resident of Cleveland and worked as the Assistant Mill Superintendent for Bowater for many years. After retirement from the paper mill, Clifford sold real estate for Coldwell Banker of Cleveland and later consulted for Aston Johnson at Bowater. He enjoyed fishing for sauger below the dam, dirt track racing, and he had a passion for singing gospel music. He was a talented carpenter and spent his spare time building furniture and crosses for family, friends, and local churches. Most of all, Cliff loved spending time with his family especially during their weekly Sunday lunches. Clifford was a friend to everyone he met and he loved Jesus with all of his heart.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings: Robert Edward Plemons, Virgnia Haney, and Ann Jett.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Jo Liner; children: Alan Plemons, Tina Smeltzer (John); grandchildren: Ashley Anderson (Logan), Alyesse LoScudo (Jesse); great grandchildren: Beckley Anderson, Knox Anderson, Logan LoScudo, and Owen LoScudo. In addition to these, he leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and close friends.
Clifford's family will receive friends from 1pm until 3pm on Sunday March 3rd at Hopewell Baptist Church. A celebration of life service will follow at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, the Plemons family requests donations be made in honor of Clifford Plemons to either the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering* or the Bowater Alumni/Employee Endowment Fund** at NC State.
