Peggy Lillard

Peggy Rogers Lillard, 95, died Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Signature Health Care in Cleveland, TN.

She was born in 1928 in Copperhill, TN, to the late Robert Ancil "R.A." and Carrie Haigler Rogers. She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel G. "D.G." Lillard; stepmother, Lora Ryder Rogers, sisters: Louise Styles and Gale Hancock; and brothers, James Hoyt "Scampy" Rogers, Walter Rogers, Joe Rogers, RA "Shorty" Rogers, Cecil Rogers, and Percy Rogers.

She is survived by her daughter, Karen Lillard Roach and husband Ronnie of Hixson TN; sons, Kevin Lillard and wife Kathleen of Reliance, TN, Bobby Lillard and wife Karen of Cleveland, TN, and stepson Dan Warnke and wife Bernice of Brooklyn, CT; grandsons, Travis Roach of Chattanooga, TN, Joshua Lillard of Cleveland, TN, Zachary Lillard and wife Haley of Benton, TN, and Dylan Lillard and wife Abby, of Cleveland, TN; and great grandson, Hayden Lillard of Benton, TN. She is survived by her sister, Sherry Millsaps of Buford, GA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly, and two dear friends, which have become "family" to us all, Don and Brenda Knotts.

She was fortunate to be able to travel abroad to Europe right after high school to meet her older brother, Walter, who was an officer in the military. This was immediately after WWII. She spent several years in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, and Italy. She delighted in telling stories of her travels, and these years were a highlight of her life.

The family would like to offer their appreciation to the nursing staff and CNA's of Signature Health Care for their care and kindness to Ms. Peggy during her time in their care. We would like to offer a very special note of appreciation to nurse, Alisha Hicks, with whom she had a special bond.

In lieu of a funeral service, the family will hold a memorial service at the gravesite at a later time.
