Peggy Dolores Morgan Young, 87, of Cleveland, TN died peacefully at her home, early Saturday October 2, 2021. Dolores was born in Vonore, and was a graduate of Vonore City High School in Monroe County, TN. She was an Alumni of East Tennessee State University, and a member of the ETSU BUC’s Marching Band. Dolores enjoyed teaching music. She was an avid piano player and singer performing at numerous weddings and special singing events over the years.
Dolores was an energetic sales representative in the photo lab industry, retiring from “Myers Photographics” in Cleveland. Dolores loved to travel and was a professional camper. She was an avid crossword puzzle fanatic. Dolores never missed an episode of “The Wheel of Fortune”.
Dolores, and her late husband of 54 years, Hollis were members of Big Springs United Methodist Church. They both dearly loved their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren! They were truly Good People!
Dolores is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hollis Young of Tellico Plains. Mother, Roxie Hodge Morgan Cavett of Vonore. Father, Theodore Roosevelt Morgan of Illinois. Grandparents, Joseph & Callie Hodge of Vonore. Sister Margaret Morgan Threewitt of Atlanta, GA. brother-in-law’s Tom Raper of Madisonville. Jack Anderson of McDonough, GA. Harold Threewitt of Atlanta, GA, and neighbor Pat Geren. Grand Dog – Fido Eugene Blackwell.
She is survived by her children, Nancy Young Blackwell (Rick Blackwell - “Favorite-son-in-law). David E. Young (Donna). Jeff A. Young, and Daughter in law, Laura Moore all of Cleveland.
Sisters, Barbara Raper of Madisonville, Jo Anderson of McDonough GA. Niece, Amy Raper of Maryville. Nephew, Dwaine Raper (Lisa) of Johnson City, TN.
Grandchildren - Greg Blackwell, Brent Blackwell, Bobby Blackwell. John, (Cassie) Young, Holly Young. Wil Young (Brittany), Jake Young, Matthew Young, Lee Young.
Great Grandchildren – Christian Blackwell, Eli Young, Camdyn Young, Brenan Young, Valerie Fite.
Special friends - Fred & Ann Hood, Doris Chumney, Barry & Carla Myers.
Visitation for Dolores will be at the Companion Funeral Home “Cleveland” October 6th, from 4pm to 6:30pm.
A private graveside service will be held later this month in the New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Tellico Plains, Tennessee.
