Obituary
Peggie A. Coleman Brooks, 76, a lifelong resident of Cleveland and the Tasso community passed away on Wednesday morning, February 5th, 2014 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was born on January 23rd, 1938 a daughter of the late James L. and Ethel Haney Coleman. Peggie was of the Baptist faith. Peggie was a caregiver in the home health and hospice industry and ministered to many patients and families during their illness. She will be forever remembered and loved by the many families she cared for. Peggie was a huge animal lover, enjoyed the great outdoors, the annual turning the leaves and simply just enjoying God's wonderful creations.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two sisters Martha Dean Swafford and Billie Mae Coleman and also two brothers Wayne Montgomery Coleman and Jimmy Lee Coleman.
Peggie leaves behind to cherish her memory one daughter Linda A. Martin of Chattanooga, TN and one son and daughter-in-law Colonel Roger Books USAF (RET) and Kayla Brooks of Tucson, AZ and eight grandchildren Matthew Martin, Christopher Martin, Belinda Martin, Amanda Martin, Zachary Brooks, Jordan Brooks, Bethany Brooks and Daniel Brooks. She is also survived by one brother Ronald Coleman, numerous other extended family and a host of special friends.
A celebration of her life in planned for Saturday morning, February 8th, 2014 in the parlor of Companion Funeral Home located at 2415 Georgetown Road in Cleveland with Pastor Steve Ross officiating. The family will receive friends in the parlor on Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the 11:00 AM service time.
The family will hold a private burial.
