Paul Moore Rogers

June 19, 1948 — May 2, 2018

Paul Moore Rogers, 69, a lifelong resident of Delano, TN went to his Heavenly home on Wednesday night, May 2, 2018 at home surrounded by his family. Paul was born in Delano on June 19, 1948 a son of the late J.D. & Nettie Lee Rogers. He ran his own print shop for many years as well as drove a local school bus. Paul was known for his many skills by people as a “Jack of All Trades”. However, the title Paul most adored was “Papaw”.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister Barbara Garren and his father in law Glenmore Weaver.
Paul leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 46 years, Janice Weaver Rogers, two daughters Shelly O’Bear and husband Michael and Kelly Maynor and husband Travis, two sisters Glenda Cass (Ronnie) and Marsha Passmore (Greg) and three brothers Doyle Rogers, Marvin Rogers (Jan) and Billy Rogers (Cathy). Paul was so proud of his six grandchildren and rarely every seen without at least one of them- Jacob, Jonah & Maddie Hanshaw and Shelby, Colby & Joby Maynor. He is also survived by brothers in law Bill Garren and Marvin Weaver, two sisters in law Elaine Hodge (Mike) and Dixie Weaver, several nieces, nephews, numerous other extended family members and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Friday night, May 4, 2018 at the Oak Grove Baptist Church located at 642 Oak Grove Road in Benton, TN at 8:00 PM with Pastor Joel Jenkins officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church on Friday evening from 5:00 PM until the 8:00 PM service time.
The interment and committal service will take place on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11 AM in the Delano Cemetery with Justin Weaver, Chris Weaver, Travis Maynor, Van Garren, Will Garren and Jacob Hanshaw serving as pallbearers.
The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to the entire staff of the Athens office of Hospice of Chattanooga and care giver Darlene for the excellent care provided to Paul and his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Chattanooga in Paul’s memory.
