Paul Curtis Whorley, 72, a resident of Cleveland Tennessee, passed away on Saturday February 13th, 2016 in a local hospital. He was a professional food salesman representative for 38 years. Paul was very outspoken and loved to be around people. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to fish, even if no one would go with him. He was also known for being a huge UT fan. Paul was a faithful member at the Washington Avenue Baptist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Raymond Whorley and Mary Swisher Whorley, as well as a father-in-law, George Ed Lynn.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joyce; two sons, Paul Curt Whorley (Rose) and David Keith Whorley (Samantha); grandsons, Austin Whorley, David Gates, Matt Phillips, Josh Brawley granddaughter, Holly (Michael), and great-grandaughter, Caydence. He is also survived by a sister, Christine Overbay and family; a half-brother, Frank Seymore (Kelli); brothers-in-law, Ed Lynn (Mona) and Joe Lynn (Sandy); sisters-in-law, Charlotte Armour (Eddie) and Trish Hall (C.L.); a very special mother-in-law Betty Louise Lynn; 9 nieces and nephews; 9 great-nieces and nephews, and special neighbors and friends, the Sandidge and Shope families.
A Celebration of Life memorial service is planned for 2:00pm on Sunday February 21st, 2016 in the chapel of Companion Funeral Home, located at 2419 Georgetown Road NW, with Pastor Tracy Fansler officiating the service.
A visitation period will be held 30 minutes prior from 1:30pm until the 2:00pm service time.
