Paul “Buddy” Dye Maples, Sr. 80 years old of Cleveland, TN passed away March 3rd, at Bradley Healthcare of Cleveland, TN. He was born July 23rd 1941 in Cleveland, TN. He was the son of the late Claude and Martha (Baldwin) Maples. He was a former employee of Cleveland Plywood Company where he worked many years. He had many hobbies such as collecting Nascar memorabilia and old and rare knives. In his later years he started buying, selling, and trading antique cars where he entered several car shows and won many trophies and awards. He loved going to car shows in Cleveland, Pigeon Forge, and surrounding areas and was involved in Mainstreet of Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by both parents, and brothers Donald “Don” Maples, David “Bear” Maples, sister Linda Kaye Gatlin, and grandson Nathan Claude Maples.
He is survived by his four children Tracy Buckner, Trudy (Jamie) Beck, Paul “Bud” Dye (Maria) Maples II, Betsy (Jeff) Tilley. Sister Claudia “Beck” (Donald “P-Nut”) Wilson, sister in law, Ann Maples, sister in law, Kathy Maples, and brother in law, Dale Gatlin. He has 12 living grandchildren Stacey Buckner, Brandon (Taylor) Buckner, Matthew (Maggie) Burks, Caleb Beck, Jacob Beck, Justin (Haley) Tilley, Lucas Tilley, Anna (Lionel) Touze, Addison Maples, Nick Maples, Lilly Maples and Luci Maples. He has 12 great grandchildren Kellan, Conner, Bailey, Madison, Miley, Mackenzie, Mason, Jackson, Hattie, Josie, Wyatt and Remy as well as several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 on Friday March 11th, 2022 at Companion Funeral home at 2415 Georgetown Rd NW, Cleveland, TN with funeral services to follow with Pastor Tracy Fancler officiating.
A graveside memorial will be held at a later date at the gravesite at Morris Chapel Church Cemetery at 163 SE Horton Ln, Cleveland, TN.
