Patrick Henry Murphy

Patrick Henry Murphy, 92, of Cleveland, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2023. Pat was born on May 8, 1931 in Charleston, Tennessee to the late Alonzo and Savannah Murphy.

Pat was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving 4 years from 1950 – 1954. After leaving the service Pat was a pattern maker by trade at Foundry Pattern Service in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Along with working and attending church he enjoyed bee keeping, fishing, RC planes, wood working, and spending time with his grandsons.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 67 years, Veneer Chastain Murphy; his daughter, Margaret Ann (Tim) Parker; his grandsons, Sean (Stephanie) Smeltzer, Ryan (Victoria) Smeltzer, and Evan (Amanda) Smeltzer; great grandchildren, Samuel Smeltzer, Savannah Smeltzer, Sawyer Smeltzer, and Skyler Smeltzer; along with a host of extended family and friends.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday, June 30, 2023 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Companion Funeral Home of Cleveland.

A Graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 11:00 am at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Pastor Greg Banther officiating.

In Lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Patrick’s name.
