Patricia Kyle

October 7, 1953 — March 31, 2025

Patricia Ann Kyle, age 71, of Cleveland, Tennessee died March 31, 2025, in her home. She was born in Columbus, GA on October 7th, 1953. She was the middle child of three with her older brother Michael Smith and younger sister Paula Young who were born to Peter and Ruth Smith. An Army Brat, she saw parts of the world and the continental United States, plus her favorite place she called home, Hawaii, before eventually settling in Dalton, GA.

After getting married to John Kyle of Madisonville, TN, she moved to Cleveland, TN where they settled down and started a family having two children, Jamie and Jonathan. Patricia spent most of her life cleaning houses for several doctors and bankers in Cleveland before pursuing a CNA in her late 50's and working at the Life Care Center of Ooltewah. Up until the day she passed, she served as a dog sitter and occasional house sitter for friends who went out of town.

Most importantly, Patricia loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This was most evident in the joy that she possessed no matter her circumstances. She faithfully attended Candies Creek Baptist Church for 32 years. She generously gave to missions and those who had needs. She modeled Christ-like sacrificial love through serving and meeting the needs of others.

Secondarily, she loved and was proud of her two sons (Jamie and Jonathan) and their two spouses (Kelli and Amanda) and her 7 grandkids (Elijah, Ezekiel, Ephram, Corban, Jadon, Kyson, and Livia). And she loved her friends to whom she brought perpetual joy and excitement.

Patricia traveled the world even in her latter days. She traveled to the United Arab Emirates to visit her long term and closest friend Dana Work and her husband Jamie. She went with a family friend to China. She traveled to Europe and Mexico with her son Jonathan. And in the last year took another trip to Europe with her longtime friend, Betsy Gentry. Finally, at 70 years of age she went skydiving!

Patricia is preceded in death by her dad and mom, Peter and Ruth Smith. She is survived by her children, Jamie Kyle (Kelli) and Jonathan Kyle (Amanda) and her 7 grandchildren of Cleveland, TN; a brother, Michael Smith of Dalton, GA; a sister, Paula Young of Chatsworth, GA, and tons of friends and church family.

A viewing will be held from 3-5pm on Thursday, April 3rd at Candies Creek Baptist Church immediately followed by a funeral officiated by Dr. Jamison Work. A graveside service is to follow immediately at Candies Creek's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Candies Creek Academy's Scholarship fund that is named in honor of her late friend Dana Work, "Dana Work Scholarship."

You are invited to share a personal memory of Patricia or your condolences with her family at her online memorial located at www.companionfunerals.com. Companion Funeral & Cremation Service and the Cody family are honored to assist the Kyle family with these arrangements.
