Patricia Ann Blankenship, 82, of Cleveland, TN went to be with her Heavenly Father on January 23, 2025. She was the third of five daughters of the late Riley Benson & Retta Lillian Prueitt. Her husband, Johnny J. Blankenship, of 62 years preceded her in death in February, 2024.
Left to cherish the many memories are her three children, Sherah (Brian) Benefield of Chattanooga, TN, Stephen (Bridget) Blankenship and Johnny Barak Blankenship of Cleveland, TN; grandson, Spencer (Alicia) Blankenship of Cleveland, TN; her brothers and sisters, Janet Bacon of Cleveland, TN; Dianna (Eddie) Scott of FL, Polly (Charles) Frady of Cleveland, TN; Ida (Don) Roberts of Riceville, TN; Riley Pruiett of Cleveland, TN and Robert (Kimberly) Prueitt of Hoover, AL. Her best friend of 70 years, Patsy Devivo of Cleveland, TN. Plus, many nephews and nieces, her church family at Community Hall Church and her many friends she has made along the way.
She was always willing and ready to listen to everyone. She was a giver and was always thinking of others. She loved making coconut cakes for family and friend's birthdays and for her church gatherings. Her pride and joy is her grandson, Spencer.
My mom loved Jesus with all her heart. My most endearing memory of her was on Tuesday, before she passed. Chaplain Bobby Flock brought his guitar in and sung several songs to her including her favorite song, "Amazing Grace". After he had completed singing, she looked at him with the sweetest smile on her face and asked do you want me to sing you the song I wrote about Jesus. She was very weak but she completed the entire song and then told him the story of Jesus.
We would publicly like to thank the entire Erlanger Chaplain staff, especially Chaplain Bobby Flock and Chaplain Luis. They went above and beyond with daily prayers with my mom and checking in on her.
Family and friends will gather from 12:00 to 2:00pm on Monday, January 27, 2025 and the service at 2:00pm at Companion Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Jeanie Cissom and Rev. Eddie Scott. The burial will follow at Ball Play Cemetery in Polk County, TN.
