Patricia "Patsy" Styles Barger passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at a local health facility at the age of 89. She was born in Ducktown, TN on January 31, 1935, and moved to Cleveland in 1946 where she resided for the remainder of her life. Patsy was a 1953 graduate of Bradley Central High School where she was voted friendliest by her classmates. Patsy retired from BellSouth after 35 years of service and was a member of the CMA and the Pioneers of America telephone retirement club. As a member of the Pioneers, she enjoyed sewing and making bears for children involved in traumatic situations. Patsy was a member of First Baptist Church, Cleveland, TN. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Clifford Barger. Her parents Lon and Emma Pack Styles also preceded her along with all her siblings: Brothers Gold, Howard & Herman; Sisters Ann Payne Hill and Jonnie Hess Martin. Patsy is survived by her son Terry Barger. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. There will be a graveside service at the Barger Cemetery, Wednesday, November 27th, at 11 AM with the Reverend Tom Wickes officiating. The visitation will be on Tuesday, November 26th from 4 to 7 PM at Companion Funeral Home Ridge Chapel in the Shelli Cody Memorial Sanctuary. Pallbearers will be nephews and great-nephews, Todd Black, Ben Payne, Jonathan Riley, Steve Barger, Kirk Gobble, and Jake McClanahan. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Payne and Allen Hughes. The family would like to express a special word of thanks to the staff of Bradley Medical Center, Signature Health Care, Hospice of Chattanooga and At Home Primary Care for their compassion and care. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the First Baptist Church or Charity of your choice.
