Oliver R. "Ollie" Cox

Oliver R. “Ollie” Cox, 75, of Spring City, TN passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Morgantown, TN on March 16, 1944 a son of the late James O. & Pearl Cox. Ollie was an active member and Sunday School teacher at Bethel Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his stepmother Blanche Cox “Nanny” of Dayton.
Ollie leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 42 years Wanda Cox, three sons Tommy R Cox (Cathleen) of Spring City, Eugene Smith (Tina) of Dyersburg, TN and Jeff Meuret of Spring City, three daughters Barbara Harris (Stacy) of Spring City, Edie Shaver (Jerry) of Dayton and Gail Hitchcox (Leon) of Pikeville, TN, sixteen grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, numerous other extended family members, church family and a host of special friends.
A celebration of his life is planned for Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at 4:00 PM at the Bethel Baptist Church located at 152 Roy Fine Lane in spring City, TN 37381 with Stacy Harris officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church two hours prior to the service on Tuesday from 2:00 PM until the 4:00 PM service time.
